Body Composition with InBody

It’s safe to say that as Americans, one of our biggest obstacles to achieving healthy body composition is what we choose to eat. Sometimes it just feels easier to reach for pre-packaged snacks and meals due to lack of time, but do you know that these heavily processed foods are laden with hidden sugars and toxic ingredients that are making you sick?

Sugar goes by many different names, which is why it’s so easily hidden in processed and packaged foods if you don’t know what to look for. The following are common names for sugar: molasses, corn syrup solids, high fructose corn syrup, fructose sweetener, fruit juice concentrate, malt syrup, carbitol, corn sweetener, erithrytol, Florida crystals, rice malt, rice syrup solids, malted barley, xylitol, galactose, evaporated cane juice, etc. Check in your pantry if you have any foods that include these ingredients and toss them out for your health!

Let’s go back to body composition…what is it? Body composition is simply a measure of what your body is made up of-water, protein, minerals, and fat-and is a more accurate way to describe BMI (Body Mass Index, or your height to weight ratio). What’s the importance of body composition? It’s simple really, a healthy balance between fat and muscle is crucial to longevity and overall wellness! Achieving a healthy body composition can be done by consuming a whole foods diet and moving your body for 30 minutes every day. A healthy body composition means more energy, better sleep, less chance for disease, longer life span, and overall resilience

At Enhanced Wellness Living we offer The InBody Body Composition Analysis which breaks down the 4 components that make up our bodies-water, protein, minerals, and fat-and provides a full representation of our health picture. An InBody analysis accurately depicts changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentage, rather than just weight loss and weight gain. InBody measures your progress as you gain muscle and lose fat! This is a more accurate way of looking at your overall health and helping you meet your wellness goals. Measuring weight alone does not give any indication of overall health and wellness.
